The Hobbit Deluxe Illustrated: Special Edition

This special edition has many unique features not found in other editions (Very Good) Standard Edition—On sale for $43.64 (originally $75)— Published 2023 by William Morrow. You'll get two poster-size fold-out maps of Ther and the Wilds, an 88-page illustrated booklet, and art from one of Tolkien's paintings for the original dust jacket of The Hobbit Card reproduction, redesigned cover features premium binding, and a cloth-bound slipcase protects your expensive book. The ribbed binding around the spine is made of green leather, the rest of the book is a black cloth board with foil stamped art and text on the cover. The standard edition has blue edges, but the special edition has gold page edges instead, adding a luxurious aesthetic.

The Hobbit Illustrated is unique in that it contains drawings, sketches, full-color paintings and maps by Tolkien himself. It features the complete original text printed in red and black. Both versions come with a ribbon bookmark, and the standard version also comes with a smaller fold-out map of the wilderness and a Thor map.
