composer doom: dark ages'The soundtrack has been revealed for the finale, from the music production team behind the award-nominated Borderlands 3 and Halo Wars 2 original scores.

Formed by the duo of Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White, the finishing action closely aligns with Microsoft games from the past decade, with credits on Halo 2: Anniversary Edition, Grounded, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and more recently Craftsmanship . Survival horror score Callisto Protocol.

In an announcement of Move's creation at Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct: Doom: Dark Ages game director Hugo Martin described it as “a metal soundscape packed with guitars, medieval vibes, and pure adrenaline.” From the clips we heard in the newly released gameplay, we can't really argue with that description, as the guitars roared with glee, spitting out the slayer's rips and shreds in time.

The move to Endgame comes after a complicated dispute between Dark Ages developer ID Software and composer Mick Gordon, who wrote the award-winning score on 2016's Doom Revival.

Originally a question about Gordon's involvement in the final mix of the score for its sequel Doom Eternal As time passes, the feud grows,,,, Composer accuses developer of unpaid wagesand singled out executive producer Marty Stratton for alleged abusive behavior. Bethesda responded to the claims shortly afterdescribed Gordon's version of events as “an unfair illustration of an irreparable professional relationship.”

Gordon will no longer be working with ID Software and will handle scoring duties for Eternal's DLC expansion, handing it over to Andrew Hulshult and David Levy's Ancient Gods. Fans wondered if they were naturally going to be dealing with a Dark Ages score creation, but clearly, ID went in a different direction with the final move.

Doom's gunplay has always been inseparable from its metal soundtrack, with Bobby Prince's 1993 score one of the most iconic ever. The final act will be eager to join Prince's and Gordon's legendary cast when Dark Ages releases later this year.
