Capcom announces Onimusha 2: Samurai’s fate is being remade for PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. The reproduction will expire sometime in 2025.
Onimusha 2: The fate of the warriors follows a demon army led by Jubei Yagyu and Nobunaga Oda. After Nobunaga's army massacred the Yagyu family, Jubei is now seeking revenge. In the process, Jubei encounters other goals and learns further about his Oni Heritage, which gives him the right to defeat Nobunaga's demons.
The game was first released for PS2 in 2002, and it was the second time in the series to get a modern remake. Back in 2018, Capcom recreated the first game in the series, Onimusha: Warlords.
Capcom is currently working on the first new Mainline entry in the series since 2006, titled onimusha: The way of sword. Although its platform has not been revealed yet, the game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2026.
Producer Akihito Kadokwaki also recently provided some new information about the game, saying it will focus on Three core aspects. They include creating compelling characters that bring Kyoto’s environment to life and providing “the ultimate sword move.”
