EA CEO Andrew Wilson commented on Dragon Age: Veil's financial failure, saying it failed to “resonate with a wide enough audience.”
last week, EA reorganizes Dragon Era developer BioWare focuses on mass effect 5which means some people working in the veil are moved to other EA studio projects, while other staff members are fired.
After EA announced its decision to the Dragon Age, the decision had poor expectations for the long-awaited action RPG. EA says “engagement” in Dragon Age 1.5 million players In the most recent financial quarter, the Treasury forecast was nearly 50%.

According to Bloomberg reporter Jason SchreierBioWare staff believe it is a miracle era: Veil released a full game, “EA forced live service after it and then reversed the route.”
Now, Wilson spoke on an investor-centric financial call that his role-playing game requires “the functionality of the world and deeper engagement and a high-quality narrative.”
“To go beyond the core audience, the game needs to be directly linked to the evolving needs of players increasingly seeking to share world characteristics and to high-quality narratives in this beloved category,” Wilson said in his prepared speech.
“The launch of Dragon Age is high quality and has been carefully scrutinized by critics and the people who play it. However, in this competitive market, it has not resonated with enough audiences.”
Wilson hints in the reading between the two lines that if Dragon Age: Veil has “shared world features” and “deeper engagement,” it may have sold more copies. However, when you consider EA's main reset that supports Biware, it's hard to understand the location. As IGN reports, the reboot of the Dragon Age has brought Dragon Age from a multiplayer game with repeatable tasks, technical foundations and outlines of stories. The skeleton transforms into a mature single player RPG.
Fans are already saying that EA has learned the wrong lessons from Dragon Age: The Veilguard and point to the huge success of the recently released single player game, including Larian’s Total Conquest of Baldur’s Gate 3. It seems that the Dragon Age is dead nowat least for the foreseeable future. But what does this mean for Mass Effect 5?
EA CFO Stuart Canfield talks about EA's decision to reorganize BioWare to focus on the next mass effect, It is reported that the studio of 200 people has been reduced to less than 100 people.
“Historically, sensational storytelling has been the primary way for our industry to buy beloved IPs from players,” Canfield said. “The game’s financial performance highlights the evolving industry landscape and enhances our actions.” The importance of reassigning resources to our most important and highest potential opportunities.”
It is worth noting that only single-player games account for a very small part of EA's total revenue. The majority of the company's cash comes from on-site services (74% in the past 12 months). Ultimate Team does the heavy lifting here, but everything from Apex Legends to Sims has real-time service contributions. The upcoming skateboarding is a live service and the next battlefield will inevitably be seen as.
