Firaxis announces recent release of virtual reality version Civilization 7.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 -VR is the first foray into VR in the long-running strategic franchise and launches exclusively for spring 2025, specifically on Meta Quest 3 and 3s.
Publisher 2K Games says Sid Meier's Civilization 7-VR is developed by Playside Studios, a studio that works on VR Games The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners and Meta Horizon Worlds.
This is the official work:
In Civilization 7 -vr, the civilized world has never been more vivid than it is. The map forms shapes on the command table, allowing you to stare from high or tilt all the time to appreciate the details of buildings and units, such as tabletop games to come to life. Players will develop a course for their staff and face to face with the iconic world leaders around the command table, everyone reacting when you form a coalition or declare a war.
Civilization 7 – VR works in immersive virtual reality or mixed reality, and you can switch freely between the two at any time. In virtual reality, players are transported to gorgeous museums as they look at the personalized vision that leads to the leader. In mixed reality, the command table can adapt to its position in the player's physical space. The detailed diorama can be viewed in the archive, a room in your museum dedicated to gaming achievements displayed in virtual and mixed reality. In addition to single player games, Civilization 7-VR can compete to dominate the world in online multiplayer games, with up to three Meta Quest 3 and 3s players.
Firaxis' 4X strategy sequel is currently available on PC and console to those who pay for advanced access, and they will certainly know their voice in Steam user comments, highlighting the user interface issues, lacking maps. Civilization 7 initiates the feeling, without many of the features they expected.
Firaxis has Responded to this feedbackpromising improvements to the UI, adding teams to multiplayer games so people can play together, and more map types, etc.
In an interview with IGN before the third quarter financial results were released, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick admits Civilization 7 has received negative comments from news and playersbut insists that the “traditional civic audience” will grow and call the early performances of Civilization 7 “very encouraging.”
