Capcom releases Monster Hunter Wilds PC troubleshooting guide in “Mixed” Steam User Evaluation Evaluation Evaluation

Capcom has issued formal advice to PC via Steam Players Monster Hunter Wilderness After the game was released, a “hybrid” user evaluation rating was initiated due to performance issues.

The Japanese gaming company said Steam users should try to update their graphics drivers, turn off compatibility mode, and then re-adjust their settings if they encounter any initial problems.

One of the “not recommended” steam reviews said the “most useful” comment was “the worst optimization I've ever seen.”

“I know new games are getting more demanding, and people expect people to upgrade, but that's ridiculous,” they said. “I know this is not the first instance of the poor performance of the new game when it was released, because the same thing happened to the world, but it feels unforgivable at this point.

“I’m by no means saying the game is bad, but in the current state you should probably consider waiting for a more stable release.”

Another negative comment also highlighted the game's optimization and said: “The appearance of the game is absolutely cruel. Running is worse than Beta.”

To help steam users improve their problems, Capcom released A'Troubleshooting and known issues'Guide with potential solutions. Capcom requires PC players to follow the steps below to “Troubleshoot issues with PC, Steam or game files.”

When the game does not run properly, try the following steps.

1. Make sure you meet the minimum system requirements of the game.
2. Update your video/graphics driver.
3. Check for Windows updates and make sure that all the latest programs are installed on your operating system.
4. If you are still having problems, try performing a clean installation of the video driver set.
5. Update DirectX to the latest version.

6. Add the game's folders and files to the exceptions/exclusion list of your antivirus program.
   Default path:
   C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\MonsterHunterWilds
   C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steamapps\CONCOL\MONSTERHUNTERWILDS\MONSTERHUNTERWILDS.EXE
7. Add the folder and files of steam.exe to the exception/exclusion list of your antivirus program.
   *Default path:
   C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam
   C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steam.exe
8. Grant administrator privileges.
   To run Steam.exe in administrator mode, right-click the .exe file and select Run as administrator.
9. If you still have problems, try logging into your PC in administrator mode and then running the game's executable file (MonsterHunterWilds.exe).
10. Verify game files on Steam.
    To verify the game file, follow these steps:
    (1) Restart the computer and launch Steam.
    (2) Excerpt from the “Library” section, right-click the game, and then select “Properties” from the menu.
    (3) Select the “Installed Files” tab, and then click the “Verify the integrity of game files” button.
    (4) Steam will verify the game's files – this process may take several minutes.
    Important: One or more files may not be verified. Files that cannot be verified are local configuration files and should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message. If a problematic file is detected during this process, Steam will automatically download and/or replace the files.
11. If “monsterhunterwilds.exe” is enabled, disable compatibility mode.
    (1) Right-click “MonsterHunterWilds.exe” in the following folder:
    C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\MonsterHunterWilds
    *The above is the default location.
    (2) Go to attributes
    (3) Open Compatibility Tab
    (4) “Run this program in compatible mode:”
    If the above issue does not resolve the issue, disable the compatibility mode of “Steam.exe” located in the folder below.
    C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam
