Pleasant Comfort Game Islander is getting a sequel

It's been almost five years since then Islander Provides a casual urban construction experience for comfortable gaming enthusiasts. Now, Coatsink has announced that the sequel Islander: New Coast will be available to consoles and PCs this summer. In the first video below, New Shores retains the appealing aspect of the first islander while teasing some new features that will be integrated into the gameplay.

Like the first game, the New Coast allows players to develop cities and structures on a series of breathtakingly gorgeous islands and change them as they see fit. Each level begins with many buildings that the player disposes, but they also consider where the structure should be placed in order to get the maximum points during the stage. Earning these key points unlocks other buildings, which opens the door to more options.

One of the new features introduced by the New Coast is called Boons. When the player collects points, this is a one-time power-up, unlocked at each stage. Boons allows players to perform some more difficult tasks in one action, including creating repetitive buildings and destroying other people’s things to make room for new things. However, Boons should be used with caution, as some tricky levels may require them more than earlier levels.

New Shores has introduced an additional sandbox mode with a save system separate from the high score mode. Photo mode is also added to preserve the player's favorite work, even just pictures of the beautiful island itself. To share experience, Coatsink adds Twitch integration to the new coast, as well as audiences’ choices for which buildings to vote for.

Islander: New Shores will be available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Coatsink has not set a specific release date yet, except for the summer 2025 window.
