For newcomers to Monster Hunter, the sudden success of the wilderness seems to be everywhere. But Capcom has been fine-tuning its success Monster Hunter Series Global Domination Series Over the years, the result seems to be one of the best-selling games in the series.
and More than one million concurrent players on Steameveryone is playing Monster Hunter Wild. But if you feel like an outsider, unsure how or where to start, I have a secret to maximize your Monster Hunter's enjoyment with this simple trick – Find the best weapon for you to play.
exist Monster Hunter Wildernessplayers can instantly choose from almost overwhelming weapons, each with its own unique play style, whether it’s heavy weapons like Big Sword, something more flexible like Double Blades, or ranged weapons like Bao Gong.
There is a temptation – I think in part because it is the most iconic weapon of Monster Hunter – first of all, the grandsword and switch axes are used, but these tedious weapons have to be used in a very specific way, with intentional swing over brute force. Therefore, they are not the easiest thing to master with. Instead, I chose something more flexible, like a double blade that opens up the world of fast attacks and dodges. The difference is transformative: Monster Hunter responds to the battle and careful attitude towards the dark soul when taking the initiative to savage a great sword. Using double blades, it reminds you of the action battles of the devil crying.
Indeed, the wilderness changes the battle compared to the previous Monster Hunter, making it more harmonious with modern action games. While sheath weapons are still needed if healing is to be cured, combat will be more intuitive to anyone who has played RPGs over the past five years. That said, the main difference – why choosing the weapon that best suits your gameplay is different from other action RPGs, which allows players to customize the way they want to play through the skill tree, and in Monster Hunter it all depends on the weapon selection.
The decisions you make at the beginning define your experience. If your preference is super fast, combo heavy stuff, that makes you feel like Dante is being shipped into the Monster Hunter series, buy a dual blade that relies on fast attacks, quick dodging and builds a meter that when full, can unleash a quick combo of quick enemies.
On the other hand, if you like something that can cause huge damage while maintaining your defense and keeping it mobility, then the sword and shield are a great starter weapon. Lance is one of the most popular weapons in the game because it favors defense rather than flashy attacks – combining both a large weapon and a shield. Its parrot and counterattack are not for everyone, but practice and you get a very unique combat experience.
There are also ranged weapons, such as Bowguns, which are also more powerful than melee weapons. If you are choosing one of these, remember to pack enough ammo and make sure to bring the best ammo for the specific monster you are fighting.
There are 14 weapons to choose from, each with unique abilities and characteristics, but they are effectively divided into three main types – heavy, causing huge damage in exchange for speed, light weapons for rapid attacks and technical weapons. But there are also some people sitting between these prototypes – guns have range features, charge blades can be turned into a large axe or smaller blade with buttons, and can use insect charm and hunting horns to get unique gains through the right combination.
There are many options, but don't be overwhelmed. Before you submit it completely, try all the weapons in the game tutorial, because whether it's a fanatic like Dante or a strategy like Dark Souls, you'll surely find the right one for you.
