Oscar-winning animated film process joins the standard series – 4K Blu-ray is 30% off

The Academy Award for Best Animation Features is almost always awarded to famous blockbusters – famous blockbusters usually produced by Disney or Pixar – but this year an independent film won the highest award: Flow. If you are one of the many Oscar viewers who haven't watched Flow, the animation adventure will earn 4K Blu-ray releases from standard collections Later this year. Directed by Gints Zilbalodis and made with open source software, the budget is about $4 million, and traffic has brought in over $20 million in the box office. Flow wins praise from critics and audiences metacritic. More impressive, however, the traffic managed to overturn some of the largest animation studios’ commercial songs, including Dreamworks’ Wild robot And Pixar's Inside Out 2this is one of the top ten highest-grossing movies once $1.7 billion.

The process follows a cat after his home and the world around him is destroyed by floods. Throughout his journey, he encounters a lemur, pepper and other animals who want to survive like him. It's an unconventional movie because its animation and sound design tells the full story – it's not a conversation.

The 4K Blu-ray Edition retails for $50, but Amazon opens pre-orders for $35.28. You won't charge for your reservation until it's shipped, and Amazon will automatically adjust the total order amount if the price drops before the release.

The standard 1080p Blu-ray version costs $40 and the DVD release is $30. Currently, none of these versions are discounted, but they also qualify for Amazon’s pre-order price guarantee.
