Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet – Journey Together The decline on March 28, 2025 brings back a mechanic we have never met since 2004. The trainer’s Pokémon is making a comeback, and like the classics of the former team Magma and Aqua team, I’m very excited to preview the set.
This piece focuses on four iconic trainers: N, Iono, Lillie and Hop, and each gets Pokémon Ex, showing the strong bond they share with the team. If you ever wanted a deck, N's Zoroark Ex, Lillie's Clefairy Ex or Iono's Bellibolt Ex Ex take center stage, now is your chance.
My journey is open together

With over 180 cards, you can chase a lot. The set includes over 40 coaches Pokémon, 16 Pokémon EX, 11 Illustration Rare, Six Special Illustration Rare, and Three Super Rare Gold Cards. The box top hat will also pay off, an enhanced booster display box containing a rare Reshiram Illustration with prints.
Travel together standard booster box
Opening the booster box is the best mess. With 36 packages, pure volume makes every appeal exciting. My highlights include N's Reshiram Illustration Rare, Iono's Bellibolt Ex Secret Rare, and super rare spike energy. These are some exciting moments, but even outside of the big hit, I put a lot of solid front cards straight into my deck.

The card I wanted most, Hope's Zacian ex, did not show up. Is Lillie's Clefairy Ex special art rare? It's also missing, but that's the development of the booster box. You will have many opportunities, but there is no guarantee. That said, this is still the best way to experience the scene. If you like to unpack or just want to inject your cards in large quantities, a booster box is always a good time. Check out all rare pulls. This box is definitely worth it to me.
Co-Travel Elite Training Box
Elite training boxes always feel more advanced than grabbing loose packaging. Right away, N's Zorua promotion caught my attention and the box itself is very suitable Memory card. The sleeves, dice and condition marks are very useful for anyone playing the game, and there are 9 booster packs, and there is still plenty of room for some good pull.

I didn't expect that only nine packs were crazy, but I still walked away from the Iono's kilowatt illustration, Rare, Articuno Illustration Rare, and a Veluza Ex. Some really interesting cards make the opening totally worth it. The ETB doesn't have a huge hit from the booster box, but having such a structured, similar products has some good hits. If you want to mix packaging fun and collectibles, this is a great way to experience the journey together. View the full list of rare cards from our preview. We ended up with some serious gems.
Build and fight box together
Build & Battle Boxes are a completely different experience than the Booster Box or the Elite Trainer Box, but they have their own excitement. The biggest attraction here is the pre-built 40 card deck, which allows you to jump right into the game without spending time organizing your cards. I used Hop's Snorlax as my promotion and it was actually a great card. Its ability makes all of Hop's Pokémon enhancements with 30 damage, which is almost critical to any deck running his lineup.

Those four packs didn't disappoint. I pulled the Mamoswine Ex and Swinub Illustration rare, which could not be more suitable for the theme of my deck. A limited number of packaging means you won't have as much rare pull as the booster box (not surprisingly), but if you're looking for a quick way to get started with a new set, this is easily the best option. There are four different promotion cards and I'm already trying to pick up another box and see which one I'll get next. Check out my journey together preview below to see some of the best cards we've got from all the openings.
Our Pokémon TCG: Travel Together
I opened 49 booster packs on all of our products and ended up getting 18 rare cards. Some are exactly what I hoped for, while others are surprising. To be sure, the trainer compares The evolution of prismatic shape. Here is what I pulled:
Hope's Solax (Promotion 184)

A bulky basic Pokémon with 150 hp, taking 30 extra damage to all Pokémon attacks from Hop. This is a great card for any coach-themed deck, while the dynamic pressure is great but full of recoil damage. Nevertheless, this ability alone makes it worth adding to any HOP-based strategy.
N's Floor (Promotion 189)

A cute but not obvious card that can evolve into something better. 70 hp and 20 damage from scratch won't turn around, but if Zoroark Ex is strong in this scenario, Zorua will have its moments.
Spiky Energy Hyper Rare (190/159)

Instant staple food on my deck. Whenever it attaches to a hit Pokémon, it deals 20 pieces of damage while making it both offensive and defensive. Oh, it also provides colorless energy. Absolute victory.
Iono's Bellibolt's pre-secret secrets rare (172/159)

280 hp lightning-type beast with energy acceleration for several days. Its electrical streaming capabilities allow you to connect unlimited lightning energy to Iono's Pokémon, making it an instant engine for the lightning deck. The 230 damage from Thunderbolt is also great, even if it does mean skipping turns. This guy will see the game.
The Art of Iris's Fighting Spirit (180/159)

A risk-reward proponent that allows you to discard one card and draw it until six. This is a great way to refresh the newbies, especially on the deck where you discard energy or Pokémon. It's also a complete piece of art that makes it sweeter.
Kilowattrel Illustration by Iono is rare (163/159)

Lightning-type supports Pokémon, allowing your hands to flash the lottery ability to refill hands. capture? You must first discard lightning energy. The Mach Bolt's 70 damage is average, but the bird is more about hand advantage than brute force.
Reshiram Illustration Rare of N (167/159)

The more damage a 130 hp dragon type causes. Powerful anger will increase severe numbers, while Virtuous Flame's 170 damage is solid, but much more energy-intensive. If you like high-risk, high-reward drama, then this is for you.
Articletuno Illustration Rare (161/159)

The water-type setting Pokémon can accelerate two basic water energy through the tremor of cold. This is useful for making it fight quickly, and Ice Blast's 110 damage is considerable. This is a great starting point for any water deck.
Swinub Illustration Rare (165/159)

This cute little guy is actually really useful. Calling the family allows you to search for two basic Pokémon on the deck, which is huge for the setup. The 10 damages of Lunge Out are ridiculous, but let's be real, Swinub is not attacking here.
Salamence Ex Secret Rare (177/159)

This 320 hp dragon-type monster does a great job – spreading damage and hitting like a truck. The large explosion causes 50 damage to each of the bench Pokémon, and the Dragon Impact Grand Slam causes 300 damage, but you have to discard two energy. Absolute beast.
Zacian Ex of Hope (111/159)

A steel legend with a brutal 240 damage attack. shortcoming? Brave slashes cannot be used twice in a row, which means you need to switch strategies. Insta-Strike caused some spread damage, but Zacian is here to eliminate things in one go.
Alcremie EX (075/159)

A center of gravity psychological Pokémon, which heals 30 damages per turn due to its candy gift ability. The 160 damage to the whipped shot is firm, but the card is best used as an extension option in the control deck.
Mimikyu Ex (069/159)

A tricky Pokémon who loves to spread damage. The naughty hand put three damage shells on the opponent's two Pokémon, and later set the knockout as the knockout. Ghostly Trip deals 120 damage and confuses active Pokémon, which is a great way to ruin their drama.
Veluza (043/159)

If you are willing to discard your entire hand, you can suffer a 240 damage to the water glass cannon. Clearing the strike is high risk, high reward, and the 30 damage of the razor fin is hardly worth mentioning. This card is comprehensive.
Lillie's Clefairy Ex (056/159)

A psychological type that punishes the dragon deck with its fairytale zone's ability, which makes all dragon Pokémon weak. Full Moon Rondo expands its damage based on the desktop size of both players, making it a potential late-stage sweeper.
Volcano EX (031/159)

A fire-type grilling agent burns the opponent's active Pokémon just by acting. With its scald steam capability. ScorchCorchingCyclone's 160 damages a lot and moves energy to the bench Pokémon to make it better.
Mamoswine EX (079/159)

An absolute tank at 340 hp, you can search for Pokémon once per turn with the Mammoth knife. The rumble parade begins with 180 damage, but if you have more stages of Pokémon on the bench, it expands, which makes it horrible on the evolutionary heavy deck.
Salamence EX (114/159)

This is my second time in the Salamence, and I have no complaints. With another cruel force with a huge explosion to spread damage and a dragon's impact to deal 300 damage. If you like big and tough Pokémon, this is one of them.
