Zelda's Legend: Breathing Out of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom both provide 2 versions of Nintendo for the new console. In addition to the in-game upgrades, Nintendo has added a number of other features, including achievements, with the new Zelda Notes option in its Nintendo Switch app.
The Nintendo Switch app (formerly known as the Nintendo Switch Online app) will get updates, adding Zelda Notes, a version of the Nintendo Switch exclusive to Breathe in the Wild and Kingdom Tears.
This app is Show in Nintendo Switch 2 Directallowing players to use GPS-style navigation to reach landmarks in the Zelda game. To achieve success, the app will track your playback data and allow players to receive in-app medals based on their own records. These explain open boxes, making money, and more.
In the Achievements section, Nintendo lists categories such as “Clear Missions and Adventures”, “Clear Lights Shrine”, “Accessed Locations”, “Unlocked Lightroots”. In addition to tracking these numbers, the app will also give you an idea of how to match other players around the world.
While the achievements seem to be designed to complete the completion, it is interesting to see these options for Nintendo experimenting with. Of course, they exist in the phone app, not in the Switch 2 console alone, but I'd love to know if other games will get similar treatments in the future.
Additional features of the Zelda Notes app include a daily reward option for useful resources, a voice memory section that adds more story and knowledge to the world as you explore, and an automated building sharing tool. These really look like handy tools, especially those who play with this Zelda Doology for the second time on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The launch date of the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for June 5, 2025. Breathing of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be available in 2 versions at launch, along with many other new and updated games.
