Amazon's 151 booster bundle, but it costs nearly $70

I noticed that the Pokémon 151 Booster Bundles is back on Amazon and I would love to say that this means good news for collectors. But when the price is more than twice the MSRP, it's more like a raised eyebrows than a celebration. Amazon's actual retail price is $26.94, listing bundles above $60. I think we call it “deal” now. Still, considering how fast this set is, I can’t write it out completely.
Pokémon TCG: 151 Booster Bundle is back
I think what brought me back to 151 is that it's not just about nostalgia. It actually provides. The card art on the court goes far beyond the usual glittering back background look. Take illustrations as an example, for example, the rare bulbasaur. It is hidden in the huge foliage jungle, like it wanders in Ghibli's movies, and it works. Then there is Alakazam Ex, who looks like he is working on a PhD in a messy study. It's strangely charming.
The most powerful part of this set, I think, is how it connects art and gameplay without feeling like it’s working too hard. Cards like Blastoise Ex have solid abilities that look like they belong to a gallery. Even Charmander has been upgraded. The new one has 70 hp, which may sound no big deal, but is enough to make it resistant to chip damage that will eliminate the weaker version. Subtle but important, this can summarize a lot of this set.
Not everything hits. The Zapdos ex is fine, but I won't frame it or build a deck around it. Despite this, the overall quality is still high. Venusaur Ex tends to be functional and Flair, while Squirtle’s artwork triggers a rare trick to make the cartoon turtle look like it belongs to the actual ecosystem. It's hard not to appreciate how much care these designs have been through.
I don't like paying more than retailers, but I don't like pretending that the set isn't loading. I think if you've been waiting for the packaging that's really open and really shot on High-Value Pulls, this is still one of the better buys. Suppose you feel like you are charging anything to Amazon today.
