Nintendo just ended April 2025 Mario Kart World Directrevealing more details about new items, patterns and more about these weird snacks, players may be stuck when the Nintendo Switch 2 launches this June.
Nintendo's latest entry into its long-running kart racing spin-off line seems to be Mario and Co's next big step. This is partly thanks to the debris in new items and returned items, while other familiar features have either been made with a small amount of adjustments or an overall make-up. Mario Kart World is stuck in a solid piece of snippet, everything players can expect during its 15-minute speech, so we make sure to collect highlights.
project
The biggest problem block hanging on everyone's head makes players question what weird items they will throw in their friends in June. Nintendo got a suitable quirky answer that included spins about items and abilities that could be paired with some new features from Mario Kart World.
As you remember, items like Bullet Bill and Lightning seem to work. The former makes the player fly forward at an astonishing speed, while the latter stops and shrinks the opponent, which now starts to rain as well, even though Mario Kart has introduced weather effects now. At the same time, classic items like Feather have remained largely the same, but now players can use them not only to jump out of some of the dangers of many new track hazards, but also to new areas, large tracks and even shortcuts.
New items can also be brought to the table. The Coin Case is a golden shell variant that leaves a trace of coin for you and your enemies as it moves the track forward in front of the thrower. Kamek is a particularly crazy addition as it can produce Koopa Wizard to transform each opponent into something completely new. Other highlights include hammers, which now stay on the ground for a short time and slightly adjusted ice flowers, allowing multiple opponents to spin at once.
One of the most mysterious items in Mario Kart is those new abilities related to food. These are called dashboard foods and come in the form of delicious burgers, sushi, kebabs, and more. These are collections that can be obtained around Mario Kart World's giant map, and once swallowed, new costumes unlocked and available elsewhere. If you want to know, yes, Moo Moo Meadows Beef can actually eat burgers.
New Tips
Skills have been an important part of Mario Kart since the Mario Kart Wii in 2008, and in Mario Kart World they are given more important. This time you can collect jumps directly from the track, which not only makes the jump on the item short, but also completely removes danger like other vehicles. It should also help reach those touching tracks and perform other tricks in the air to give the player the ability to get extra air.
The trick will also help players jump to the wall, which can jump to the wall between tracks to find new parts of the track and even find some hidden blocks of items. Putting the linking tips together is tricky, so if you find yourself missing a specific jump to the high ledge, the new rewind will help you temporarily rewind the clock to hone your skills.

Although modes like Grand Prix and Time Trial are back, the Mario Kart world also comes with many new modes. The Knockout Tour is one of the most important members as it allows players to compete to maintain a lead in long-term competitions. Those who are behind are at risk of being eliminated.
The timing trial is a return mode to accommodate Mario Kart World's improved multiplayer features. When jumping online, players have the option to download data from other racers around the world. Longtime Mario Kart fans will also be happy to know that fans’ favorite modes like VS matches, balloon fights and coin runners are back and adopting some new tracks to fight against. There is also a comprehensive photo mode that can be used to capture iconic moments when cruising around the world.
Of course, the biggest new mode in Mario Kart is its open-world-style free roaming feature that allows players to explore its vast map and all the tracks they are on. We explain everything you need to know about the main additions to Mario Kart Universe and how to play with friends here.
Mario Kart World is launched with Switch on June 2. We are still waiting for Nintendo to set new dates for booking options in the U.S. and Canada after delays earlier this month. Meanwhile, the theme of console prices remains a detail, and it continues to take over the Nintendo review section. Today’s Mario Kart world is no exception, as players make sure their chat section is filled with comments like “price cuts”.
