Nintendo Switch 2 is set to special enhancements for several Switch 1 games, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A newly discovered disclaimer has made fans worry about certain games, or at least one, that does not support Nintendo's cloud savings feature.
During the last day or so, users kept noticing Nintendo’s page The tears of the kingdomThe Switch 2 Edition comes with the following disclaimer: “Please note: This software does not support the Save Data Cloud backup feature for Nintendo Switch online paid membership.”
Every Reset, page The Legend of Zelda: Breathing in the Wild – Switch Version 2 Obviously, it was also obviously carrying this disclaimer Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV.
Despite disappearing from these pages, Kingdom Tears still have a disclaimer at the time of writing. Although Japanese page EUROGAMER By machine translation, there will be no same disclaimer; only the US and EU pages seem to show it.
IGN has contacted Nintendo to clarify the matter.
If this is true, this could create some confusing solutions for players. Nintendo's cloud saving options for NSO members are very convenient. It enables game carrying across systems, or juggling game space without losing the saved progress, inducing resilience.
Actually, the Kingdom Tears that import saved files from the original switch to the Switch 2 version still seems to work. The Nintendo page points out the additional save slot for the Switch 2 Edition, where you can start a brand new journey or “continue to continue with your existing save data.” Nintendo did point out that saved data created in the second save data slot cannot be transferred to the Nintendo Switch 1 version of Kingdom Tears.
This is a confusing situation that can cause some stress because players may not want to lose the upgraded version when discarding many hours of saved files. Hopefully this will clear soon.
The Switch 2 Edition does have several reasons to require Switch 2 owners to upgrade, including the Zelda Notes App, which contains useful guidance, legends and even Some potential equipment repair options.
