After the official revelation at the Japanese Star Wars celebration, Star Wars: Zero Company It has been revealed. One of the interesting things about the game is its setup, as the events of Zero Company will unfold during the Clone Wars. While the Galactic Civil War has been explored in detail, Zero will focus on the hidden stories of conflict and the secret actions that occur. Thematically speaking, the game draws on Star Wars stories such as the Clone Wars Animation series, the Rogue One and the prequel series Andor, and classic World War II movies such as Dirty Twelve.
“The Clones War has given us a lot of tools we need to mechanize, which is great,” BIT reactor creative director Greg Foertsch explained in an interview with GamesPot. “But it's also fun, we haven't seen this zoom level in the Clones War, so from a game design perspective it's a very unique landing point, and it also gives us a lot of great options to tell a really great story and add some great mechanics. It really opened the door for us to do a lot of things.”
Lucasfilm Games producers Orion Kellogg and Kelsey Sharpe added that the era of Clone Wars allowed “various locations in the area” to tell the original story. The subtle story of the Clone Wars has had a big impact on Zero Company, and the boot atmosphere of Rogue One. Films like Dirty Twelve also inspired the idea of how Zero could come together, but as Sharp points out, the first Star Wars movie is still the guiding light of the game.
“Even if your tone is more basic and you're entering the gray shadow of the era of cloning war, there's always hope,” Sharp said. “There's always a bond between allies, there's always a myth. That's Star Wars. That's how we keep things consistent in all the stories we tell.”
Star Wars: Zero Company will launch in 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
