Bond franchise sales to Amazon MGM may be bad news…but, here are the ways to do it

James Bond fans were shocked and not excited in the landmark entertainment news, Amazon MGM Studios has full control over the 007 series From longtime producer Michael G. Although there are many reasons to worry about here, the fact is that there are spin-offs, games, comics, etc., not to mention the original novel by Ian Fleming . Dozens of writers, actors, artists and others have solved James Bond and his long-term performances. And with Amazon's Reported ambition To turn James Bond into a “universe”, Los Angeles and Star Wars and the billions of dollars of risks, Bond's franchise has no time die.
Naturally, this is one of Broccoli's concerns about giving up rights, and Amazon MGM will try to expand too quickly or play the name actors in the role of a secret agent. Will Amazon be loyal to these ideals? Or are we going to make Timothée Chalamet the next 007? Probably not the latter (all apologize to Charamet), but Amazon has tried to produce Citadel and International Propoffs Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny with Russo Brothers. These are usually lacking in praise (except for the Honey Bunny), and at least in the country there is no Amazon hit like other boys that really destroy the audience.
…or more importantly, Amazon’s handsome guys perform with guns like Reacher, Jack Ryan and Bosch. In fact, one can think of this as a large part of the main reasoning behind Amazon to increase the billions of dollars in bonds: Some of their most successful series are already white, guns, guns, names in titles, based on books series. Like the money Amazon pays for Lord of the Rings (your mileage may vary depending on the level of success of the power circle), you can buy James Bond directly based on the available data. Prime Video Viewers have flocked to like James Bond, why is James Bond himself?
Another detail you may not know: Amazon has made the James Bond TV show. Seriously. Titled 007: The Road to One Million, the 2023 reality show streaming, was hosted by Brian Cox and was admitted to the second season in its first season. Related only to Bond's point of view that Cox plays a pseudo-key villain and the contestants won £1m, the series was not a big success, but it does show Amazon I've played 007 in the TV field. As an extra fun tidbit, Cox thinks he's signing for the next Bond movie. He is not, so Amazon can do the right thing in him in the future.
But wait, there are more! Back in 1954, this was an anthology called Climax! The first ever adaptation aired in Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale, and then worked on filming multiple times. Point is, no a lot of In the history of James Bond’s TV, but like the franchise is most acclaimed in video games (have you ever played Goldeneye for N64?), comics and more, James Bond ) is not divine when it comes to adaptation, the cow we think of.
Note that there is no announcement that Amazon has completely abandoned the movie, and most likely not. MGM is not the studio that once was, but for every red that went to the theater, they were still Oscar-nominated Nickel Boys. There are many reasons to believe that even without broccoli, Amazon MGM will still do the right thing through the bond franchise.
Frankly, is there any left field for the idea of franchise extension? While perhaps totally dramatic, making a TV-streaming Bond might be the ultimate nightmare in the movie, there are plenty of fascinating characters surrounding Bond, which often have more chances of character growth than the main characters themselves. Bond has remained relatively still for decades – the recent Craig movies – and Q, M, Moneypenny, and even Felix Leiter always seems to be in the scene or two Bonds in each movie with There seems to be a lot to do if they sign in together.
Q Is it so bad that a series that has to leave the lab and use its own gadgets? Felix has to deal with Bond’s consequences and blow up the latest Supervillain plot in the United States? Given the abundance of villains and guys in the Bond Universe inspired dozens of fanatics, tributes and counterfeits, it's an anthology series that can be fun to give them more time in the sun. Who doesn’t know how jaws get those jaws?
There is also a chance here to flesh out James Bond’s character with a serial TV show, a way that doesn’t get a role on the big screen for most of the time. Apart from the rare case where Bond suffered an ankle sprain at the beginning of the movie, the character is functionally immortal until he switches his face like the Lord of Time. It wasn't until the recent Daniel Craig films that allowed Bond to have some kind of growth, though even then, most Craig films were relegated to “Death to His Girlfriend” , and in the last one.

The exception to loneliness is Skyfall, arguably the best Bond movie ever…because it does challenge James emotionally and push the series toward an almost logical conclusion. The next movie resets things in many ways, but imagine being able to see this arc of 10, 20 or even 30 episodes (we won't go crazy, suggest streaming shows all 22 episodes in a season or a season or like this thing)? You may not get 10 Skyfalls in a row, but if you can nod to that movie’s ambition, the audience might do something really special.
Amazon, on the other hand, couldn’t see the obvious—i.e., the guys who performed their guns—replaced with the King of Rings and offered a prequel before James Bond was born. For this, maybe they just have to watch a stupid show, which is a stupid show, but many loyal fans still confuse casual audiences to see why we are playing Batman’s future Butler. Or, for example, the Power Ring is a show with Hot Zoro, with little to no ring in its first season, and even the most loyal fans tested patience.
This is the potential nightmare, and Amazon will think with their algorithms rather than their minds. Even in the worst case, the Broccoli family and everyone else managed to bring the Bond franchise with the same rhythm, the same big bang, the same good girl got bad, the bad girl got good . In the age of streaming, we are far from where you can deliver the poetry of Bond movies based on situations. Turning it into another serialized spy drama (or worse, a serialized prequel drama) could lose this profession, but instead with Netflix's Night Agents, Diplomats, and New Soldiers 》 or God Helps Our Castle, rather than using it with Citadel is its own unique thing.
Indeed, it's a trick, it's any potential cinematic universe: what makes it unique? As far as Bond is concerned, it has been mostly on the big screen until now, every few years, and provides a level of action wonder and plot comfort, and TV has been spreading for decades. If Amazon does want to put the built-in Ian Fleming in a multi-platform franchise, they need to estimate what makes Bond so unique. If they can figure out the formula, maybe they can also build a support cast (Ben Whishaw in the Q series? Come on!), then the bond franchise will die on another day, not a death sentence.
