Former BioWare developers have put forward their ideas for Dragon Age: EA CEO's Veil and recent comments.
During the economic call, EA boss Andrew Wilson said Dragon Age: Veil fails to “resonate with enough audiences.”
last week, EA reorganizes Dragon Era developer BioWare focuses on mass effect 5which means some people working in the veil are moved to other EA studio projects, while other staff members are fired.
After EA announced its decision to the Dragon Age, the decision had poor expectations for the long-awaited action RPG. EA says “engagement” in Dragon Age 1.5 million players In the most recent financial quarter, the Treasury forecast was nearly 50%.
IGN owns Some Dragon Ages: The Development Challenges of Veilinclude Layoffs and leave of Several project leaders At different stages. According to Bloomberg reporter Jason SchreierBioWare staff believe it is a miracle era: Veil released a full game, “EA forced live service after it and then reversed the route.”
However, Wilson suggests that Bioware’s role-playing games need to have “characteristics of the shared world and deeper interactions and high-quality narratives” to achieve EA’s success.
“To go beyond the core audience, games need to be directly linked to the needs of players increasingly seeking to share world characteristics and engage more deeply with the high-quality narrative of this beloved category,” Wilson said.
“The launch of Dragon Age is high quality and has been carefully scrutinized by critics and the people who play it. However, in this competitive market, it has not resonated with enough audiences.”
Most people, in Wilson's comment, said that if the Dragon Age: Veil had “the function of sharing the world” and “deeper engagement,” it might have sold more copies. But, as IGN reported, IGN reported that the EA-powered development restarted to see Dragon Dragon age transition from the bones of multiplayer with repeatable tasks, technical foundations and storylines to mature single player RPG.
Now, formerly renowned biohealth staff are giving their opinions on social media. David Gaider created the environment for Dragon Age, and was its narrative leader before leaving BioWare in 2016 Say EA is not learning the right course from the veil.
“Of course, companies can learn all sorts of lessons from games like Veilguard (I haven’t played it yet, so I’m going to go to what others said), but 'maybe it should be live service' now the harvest seems a bit Short-sighted and self-service.
“It’s not a lack of when deciding why the game is not done well. For example, for the backwake crowd, some waking games perform well, and the waking games are poor, only those waking poorly. Games * is because * they are awakened. They are more talked about than games.”
Gaider then said EA should follow the leadership of Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian and double-shooting down as Dragon Age works best. Baldur's Gate 3 is certainly a huge blow, and despite its multiplayer co-op, it's mostly a single player RPG experience.
“My advice to EA (not they care): You have IPs that a lot of people like. Deep. At its peak, it sells well enough to make you happy, right? Look at what it sells the most Time to do the best. Follow Larian’s lead and double that. The audience is still there. Wait.” Gad continued.
Gad wasn't the only famous Dragon Age developer responding to Wilson's comments. Mike Laidlaw, chief creative officer of Eternal Strands developer Huang Brick Games, and former creative director of Dragon Age go further, explain He would quit if forced to turn his beloved single player into a purely multiplayer game.
“Look, I'm not a high-end CEO, but if someone says to me, the key to success in this successful single player is to make it purely a multiplayer game. No, not a spin: fundamentally changing people Favorite DNA for core games “For me, I might quit this job or something,” he said.
Ledlaw continued, “Of course, think loudly. Who would foolishly ask for something like this?
“…twice.”
Of course, Laidlaw did withdraw from BioWare in its development issues in 2017. Bioware's bad luck live service game National Anthem was launched in 2019.
The result of the recent incident is Dragon Age now looks deadBioware focuses entirely on Mass Effect 5, which is led by veterans in series such as Mike Gambling, Preston Watermanik, Derek Watts and Parrish Ley.
EA CFO Stuart Canfield talks about EA's decision to reorganize BioWare to focus on the next mass effect, It is reported that the 200-person studio has been reduced to less than 100 people.
“Historically, sensational storytelling has been the primary way for our industry to buy beloved IPs from players,” Canfield said. “The game’s financial performance highlights the evolving industry landscape and enhances our actions.” The importance of reassigning resources to our most important and highest potential opportunities.”
