One of the biggest surprises of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is its exclusive from Software Reles, Fool. This is a PVPVE game developed by Soulsborne Studio, but director Hidetaka Miyazaki said that doesn't mean the company has moved forward.
exist New interview with NintendoMiyazaki talked about the decision to make Duskbloods a PVPVE game. The director said he “always found” interesting to the structure because it allows for a wide range of game design ideas, while also allowing experience derived from software in designing challenging enemies encounters.
“As a side note, please allow me to solve one thing,” Miyazaki said. “As we mentioned earlier, this is its core online multiplayer title, but that doesn't mean we as a company decided to turn to a multiplayer-centric direction and move forward with the title.”
He continued: “The Elden Ring version of the Nintendo Switch 2 has also been announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player games that are centered around this, which are in our more traditional style.”
Since the release of Elden Ring in February 2022, FromSoftware has certainly conducted some trials. Its DLC, the shadow of Erdtree, tried some interesting new power scaling methods In the form of Scadri blessings. There is also Elden Ring: Nightreign, an upcoming cooperative survival action game that blends the usual soul style with storms of aggression, loot, and character archetypes. The studio even returned to the mecha era with Rubicon's Armored Core VI: Rubicon Fire.
So using Duskbloods, FromSoftware tried something different again. Miyazaki said in an interview that when the team introduced it to Nintendo, the company's outline of the dusk was “still simple” – “a looser idea than proper speech” and the concept “is different from (from software).
Nintendo is interested in achieving this, and although a small team started the original switch project, Nintendo brought Fromsoft to the idea of moving to Switch 2. “The new hardware's focus on online capabilities has enabled us to be as true to the original vision as possible, which is good news for us,” Miyazaki said.
So while Duskbloods may be different from the usual FromSoftware games, it sounds like the studio doesn't exactly leave the “traditional” style you'd expect. In other words: let fromsoft cook on then cook.
But what is the next game from the next single player? Miyazaki says developers have not yet considered making Elden Ring 2but the second half of last year allowed future possibilities to be opened up. Probably not Blood Source 2or frustration with fans.
