Game of Thrones: Kingsrow Netmarble and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that it will leave early access on May 21 and launch on May 21.
Action-adventure RPGs based on George RR Martin's beloved fantasy world will be released on all mobile platforms as well as on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Windows.
Game of Thrones: Kings was launched in March with an early access table and has a “hybrid” user evaluation rating on Steam. Most negative comments revolve around its monetization, which some call “greed.” “It’s like a mobile game with steroids, a little bit good,” the current “most useful” review reads on Valve’s platform.
Among the FAQs on Release Date Posted to SteamNetmarble addresses the expected gap between early entry and new players' progress. It says Game of Thrones: Kingsrow is “fundamentally designed with a focus on single-player gameplay” and it strives to “minimize any sense of imbalance or injustice that could be due to the difference in progress.”
The development team continued to conduct testing to improve the game, “improve the game and make everyone more enjoyable and accessible.”
“We encourage all players to focus on the inherent pleasure of progressing in the late stages and reaching the final game content, rather than comparing progress with other characters,” Netmarble advises.
Netmarble continues to apologize for its previous communication and patches and admits it is “somewhat lacking.”
“Moving forward, we are committed to more frequent and transparent communication through regular AMA meetings and developer annotations,” it added. “We implore you to continue to look forward and support as we approach the official launch.”
As you would expect from a game like this, there is a premium founder package that offers early access and other exclusive in-game content. Before the big launch, mobile players can pre-register through the App Store and Google Play Store on iOS and Android devices.
