Only available for PC right now, the team has shared no news on when or if you can expect to see modding coming to consoles.
“We make it easy for everyone. It's all streamlined with the official tools we provide,” said Avalanche Community Manager Chandler Wood. “For Mod Creators, you'll be able to get the official Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit for free on the Epic Games Store. As players rush to add Shrek, Thomas the Tank Engine, and more nonsense to the open-world Harry Potter game, the Hogwarts Legacy mod will almost certainly turn into chaos immediately. Thankfully, Avalanche is here to help fans succeed. The studio says it has been working with community members to make some mods available on day one, including creative broom options like dragons and vacuum cleaners as well as unique cosmetics, an endless dungeon experience to test your combat skills, and a A magical creature extraction mission. There will no doubt be more community-generated content coming in the coming months, giving players more than enough content to keep them busy as Avalanche moves forward.
Hogwarts Legacy launches for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S in February 2023, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions in May and a Nintendo Switch version in November. This means it will celebrate its two-year anniversary next month with full support, but the free update is far from the only post-launch support the project has received since its arrival.
