Interview: Delta Forces hope to “blast” the mobile shooter market

The return of Delta Force released on PC last year has rekindled interest in the legendary tactical shooter series. Now it brings its determined free-to-play, modern, team-based tactical action to a completely new audience for mobile devices. Before the April 21 release, expectations for a mobile launch were huge, with more than 20 million players on Android and iOS platforms.
We talked with Leo Yao, head of Studio and Shadow Guo of Jade’s team about the development of Delta Force Mobile, the content, graphics and optimization of the game, and the technical ambitions and its game against victory, rather than the philosophy of paying to win.
Capture epic battles on small screen
Delta Force has a realistic battlefield, class-based operators, deep arsenals and multiple game modes; all aimed at blending the nostalgia of the original series with modern game elements. The game mode is in line with individual player and teamwork experience, including the world's first 24v24 battlefield with vehicles and extract-based PVPVE mode. Equality of experience is a core part of the design spirit of this title.
“Our goal is to build a truly uncompromising AAA shooter experience for mobile players, which feels as exciting and immersive as the same product of PC,” Guo said. “We want to provide players with the opportunity to experience a variety of modes and maps they have never experienced before, with promises a lot of action and fun. That’s why we are particularly proud to introduce breakthrough features like our world-first 24v24 massive battlefield, which pushes the boundaries of what mobile shooters can achieve.”
No matter where you are
Delta Force Mobile is designed to bring games to new mobile-first audiences, while also providing PC players with a way to bring games anywhere. An integral part of the cross-progress of Delta Force with PC, which includes support for Google Play games on PC, allowing players to advance and play games on both platforms. The current sync content between PC and mobile devices includes 7 war maps, 4 maps for operation, 10 operators, 12 cars and 55 weapon sets, and more. The player's personal progress (including inventory) will also be synchronized.

“We wanted to make sure the power of the Delta provides players with an exciting cross-platform experience,” Yao said. “Whether players are quickly participating in quick matches on their phones during their commutes or having longer meetings with friends on their PC, we wanted to make sure the game is both accessible and fun.
“No one is left behind”
The same is true of Delta Motto in its approach to equipment optimization. Developers work hard to ensure their launch on mobile devices is the best for players around the world with accessible system requirements.
“We wanted to make sure players don't have to worry about whether their phones can handle gameplay, so we made sure the system requires access as much as possible. For example, the iPhone 7, which is about 10 years old, will be enough for players to experience everything Delta Force has to offer,” Yao said.
Delta Force brings its high-resolution visuals to mobile devices and comes with a global lighting system, so players feel truly immersed in the world they created. At the heart of its design are lifelike operators, detailed weapons and cosmetics, huge and detailed maps, and unique game effects.

Shooter fans need high frames (FPS) per second for a rich experience, which is why it is crucial for developers to ensure 120 natural FPS with cutting-edge technologies like Vulkan and Metal when building mobile versions. The team is 50% more efficient than most industry-leading mobile shooters, which makes the Delta force industry leaders. Coupled with low input latency, the game was built from scratch and became one of the smoothest mobile shooters on the market.
Winning Victory
The advancement of Delta Power is based on a win-win system that allows new and continuous players to win exclusive rewards. At release, mobile players are eligible to receive several different rewards by signing and playing the game. Receive $500 worth of rewards on PC and mobile devices, including 148 weapon appearances, 21 vehicle appearances and over 270 other rewards.

“As driven by our passionate players, we are truly committed to a pay-free victory system. We value feedback, which is why we offer rewards in the game. We want our players to enjoy progress and pay off for it. DeltaForce will always be the first game in the community.”
