Mario Kart World isn't the only Nintendo Switch 2 game, priced at $80, as do some Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Games

The Switch 2 version of the game goes beyond backward compatibility. For example, Super Mario Party Jamboree's Switch 2 Edition comes with a content suite called Jamboree TV, which utilizes Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, the Switch 2 Macrophone and Switch 2 USB-C cameras will be sold separately. In addition to upgrading to 1440p in TV mode with upgrades to upgrade resolution and higher frame rates, there are new mini-games and online features.
Metroid Prime 4: Go beyond the Switch 2 Edition, while supporting mouse controls with Joy-Con 2, as well as multiple display modes such as Quality Mode, which runs at 60fps in 4K when docked, or at 60fps on Handheld. and performance mode, which runs at 1080p at 120fps at 1080p at hand-held mode, or 120fps at 720p. Perhaps what mitigates the blow to some extent is that Nintendo's upgrade will be available to existing owners of these games on the Nintendo Switch. However, Nintendo has not disclosed how much the upgrade package costs. We do know of some upgrade packages, such as the Switch 2 upgrade to Breathing in the Wild, and the Tears of the Kingdom, which will be included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. This is the same as switch owner accessing online features and classic libraries.
