It's been a long time since Mercurysteam released the original game, but the studio behind it Metroid: Samus returns and Metroid's Fear Finally revealed its upcoming “Angry Dark Fantasy Action RPG Blade”. In the trailer for the announcement below, the players prepare to face their destiny enemies and introduce him to Aran de Lira. Fortunately for Alan, he carefully armed with his creative weapons.
In the game's backstory, Aran is the eldest son of the King's Ward, and is forced to stand after the recently crowned Queen Nerea uses dark magic to consolidate her power in the Kingdom. Thanks to Nerea's spell, all the steel in the kingdom has become stones, and only the evil creatures she commands have divine metal that can eliminate any ordinary weapon used against them.
This is why Alan had to forge his own weapons to deal with the power of God Metal and could choose from several different weapons. Players will have to determine which weapons are most effective against the various monsters encountered in the game. Picking the wrong weapon can have serious consequences, and Aran cannot defeat the enemy.
Mercury laughed at the fact that some of the details about the story would be unknown, “You will only know what our heroes know; your intuition and courage must fill the rest.” Thankfully, Aran didn't have to figure it out for himself. His companion Adso can give him advice on how to defeat these creatures in battle. Adso also speaks the language of ancient forgers, which will come in handy when their brave castles and mazes are invincible.
Fire Blades will be released on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC on May 22 via the Epic Games store.
