The sequel to the Super Mario Bros. movie is over a year away, but Wario's name has surfaced: American season 1 star and Ron Swanson himself Nick Offerman.
Performance host Craig Mazin surfaced under Mario's opponent's name as he spoke with Ign on the red carpet before Season 2 of America Season 2.

“I think Nick Offerman will actually do a really good job,” Mazin said. “Just bring some traction. Because I love Vorio, I think he's misunderstood.”
Mazin has previously said that Wario is his favorite character in Mario Kart. Mazin continued: “I hope people understand why Volio.” “He's Volio! He'll win!”
Offerman is perhaps known for his seven seasons of running at NBC sitcom parks and entertainment venues. He won the Emmy Award in the first season of our final season.
