PGA Tour 2K25 Reviews – IGN

Even though I love everything about sports, I have given up on the idea that I am good at golf. The way the human body has to be twisted to successfully hit the ball into the fairway is not calculated in my mind. But, like other games, the PGA Tour 2K25 allows me to see everything I do in real life and actually execute it, thanks to its in-depth simulation gameplay that makes my thumb and brain possible Do what my actual body refuses to do.
Honestly, I was a little hesitant to participate in the PGA Tour 2K25. While 2K23 isn't the worst golf game I've ever played, its character or gameplay lacks shine, which is surprisingly considering that HB Studios has been faithfully engaged in successful golf Sims like the Golf Club ( Golf Club), it has been more than a decade. . Putting it together, unlike most sports games, it took the PGA Tour 2K two years to release a new iteration, and it's safe to say my expectations are being checked.
To my surprise, that extra time paid off: I was impressed soon with the PGA Tour 2K25, especially when it comes to appearance. While it still can't match the respective golf visual entertainment with EA Sports' rival PGA Tour game heads, the difference is far less stark than before. Player models look closer to their real life, with more detailed courses and clearer animations. I found myself pausing while playing multiple times to suck water from the rocks, or comparing the cuts in the fairways, edges and rough areas of each course. The putter and driving animation are also smooth, and no longer suddenly stop or feel heavy after contact. The performance was also smoothed, and the only time I encountered a problem with falling frames on the PlayStation 5 was due to internet connectivity issues. Even the solo career mode is always online, so in some cases my shots stutter and even my rounds aren't savings a few times.
My biggest pain with the look and feel of the PGA Tour 2K25 is the low-energy review team of Luke Elvy and Rich Beem. Although they are both very knowledgeable, the methods and conditions are described beautifully, their lines cannot be delivered flatterly. I know golf is not the most exciting sport, but there is no need to sound like a robot when it comes to discussions.
They seem to have a vendetta against me, too. If I did something worse than doing it on a green that was overturned by two or birdies, Rich Beem would be in Happy Gilmore like Bob Barker Rescue me on – The price is wrong, Richie! At least thanks to my years of experience working on FIFA reviews, it's not very difficult to adjust them.
Apart from that, this is pretty much all the good news. For example, it is obvious that HB Studios prioritizes features that the community has been begging for. The most notable addition surrounds the method, with the ability to change the tee position and select dangerous landing points. It seems like a small detail, but it is impossible to adjust the position after water hazard or move the ball on the t-shirt to tilt the most frustrating shot in the PGA Tour 2K23 better. I like the control 2K25 gives me.
Another big change is that MyPlayer development has become an RPG system that allows you to unlock specific shots in progress, making the growth of Mycareer campaigns customizable to your specific strengths. Six Tree’s skills vary from advanced shooting types (such as Stinger), which is ideal for handling high wind conditions, as well as improving proficiency, which helps with each shot. I chose to build a powerful prototype that focused on driving along the fairway and put my feet against other newbies in Q-School.
It is here that I am happy with the new Evoswing mechanism. New and improved golf swing technology focuses on proper posture, torque and curve size, after each swing it can even destroy your contact, rhythm, transition and good condition of swing paths, so you have something to do with how Improved details. You can even customize how it controls by choosing a classic swing stick or a 3-key swing based on your skill level.
The swing just requires you to pull the right stick back and release it, which is easy to master, but still has to be well arranged to get a good shot. A three-button swing is certainly difficult to master, as you have to press, hold and release before clicking or pulling the lens, and hitting the last to hook or slice, but this is my favorite senior golf ball (game) ) For control, it can get you beyond your lens. After using it to blow my game out of water, I shot below 30 shots in four days and I continued to play in the PGA Tour.
Like a real deal, the goal here is to compete for points in the game, winning the spot in the top 70 to compete for FedExcup. However, instead of blindly throwing you into every event, the PGA Tour 2K25 adopts training and scout scenarios before each event to earn Stat Buff and gain a share of the land. The training scenario is a bite-sized mini-game, such as a goal challenge or competition to land in the green the fastest or lower the longest putt. Complete these features temporarily improve specific attributes, which are suitable for upcoming matches. At first I shrugged them as a way to play time, but once I had a tough time, I realized that my driving force looked like a smaller enthusiast, which could mean reaching fairness the difference between the way and not the bunker. Practice matches can also give you an advantage for the upcoming race in the way you expect: being able to play and feel the specific runs and shapes of each course before the race. It is so satisfying to develop strategies for a course like a professional.
However, not every new feature in Mycareer falls on the fairway, especially with new personality and popularity. At Madden and EA Sports FC: Your professionals spend time with the influence of fans, develop followers and develop personality based on the answers they choose in conversations and interviews, we've seen all of them in other games. While this is a well-intentioned effort to make Mycareer more talented and make you feel like a beauty of the ball, the system feels as meaningless as other games. All conversations are conducted through text and have no effect on the actual gameplay, so it feels like it’s not polished and there’s no time to use the time.
The actual way to get sponsorship and unlock the XP mission line is simply to do a good job of playing golf. It was easy to do this at first because the default setting of the PGA Tour 2K25 felt like a kid's game: I easily won every game, destroyed the -13 Viktor Hovland, hitting the -13.
At this point, I decided to try customizable sliders, which allows you to adjust everything from CPU difficulty to green conditions to weather. The difficulty takes the most time to experiment, as it is difficult to find the right percentage of skills that suit you, and it seems unbalanced. In some games, a golfer will score 10 in the case of a second championship competitor. But once I adjusted the weather and course conditions to randomize, the field started to feel higher and the scores were closer. Everyone benefits from the smooth green and shining sunshine, or everyone suffers from the whipped wind and smooth surfaces, on which the balls are getting faster and faster on them.
However, the dynamic option is a complement to my favorite Mycareer since 2K23: this way you can choose the number of holes you want to play in the course, which specific holes and any skipped holes will simulate. I don't mind playing the full 18 times most of the time, but the promise of shortening the time of certain rounds with dynamic simulation is a good choice.
Unfortunately, microtransactions are still present in PGA Tour 2K25, but kindly, they are mostly cosmetic-based. Yes, you can dump real money to make players superstar stats and immediately decorate with flashy clothes, but you can also earn upgrade points and different outfits by completing tournaments so they can complete the game , so they're completely necessary and no less offensive than what 2K does in recent years with the casino-style approach to NBA 2K. So it's still a pleasure to play online with others because it's not a sport and you'll be held up by someone who can run faster and jump high because they pay the extra cost.
2K23 returns seven online modes, including my favorite: Four Balls. I like to compete with my partner and another team because it is more competitive, fast paced and interactive than with AI. For my money, this model is the next best thing to do in real life with your friends. Ranked and casual games also let you choose between the Swing Stick and the 3-key lobby and choose the game features and assistants you want to make sure everyone is on the same page. It is also worth noting that Social Model now offers cross-game functionality that allows you and your friends to arrange asynchronous events regardless of platform differences.
