Konami's latest Silent Hill transmission is here, with its entire focus on the Silent Hill F, an upcoming entry in the beloved horror series that will bring to Japan in the 1960s.
Silent Hill F is First announced in 2022, it was described as a game that looks like it happens in a “beautiful, so horrible” world. It was also confirmed that Silent Hill F was written by Ryukisshi07, the Japanese visual novel writer Ryukisshi07 behind the Higurashi and Umineko series.
After nearly three years, we finally learned more about Silent Hill F, and you can read everything below.
The purpose of Silent Hill F is to “find beauty in horror” and provided Japan with a beautiful and terrifying choice in the 1960s
Konami shared a brand new trailer and many new details for Silent Hill F, including that it will aim to “find the beauty in horror” and provide players with beautiful and terrifying options in the 1960s Japan.
The team isn't ready for the situation of sabotaging the decision, but it does reveal a little bit of the story, and we leave it to Konami for the stage.
“Shimizu Hinkao is living the life of an ordinary teenager,” the official description reads. “That is, until her town suddenly becomes foggy and begins to change in a terrible way. Now, she must explore a town she no longer recognizes, while solving puzzles, fighting strange enemies, and living in whatever way she can… to face the final decision she has to make. It's a story about a beautiful and terrible choice.”
This new game will be an original story, and it will be a great place for new players to jump in, but there will be some Easter eggs waiting for series veterans. Konami also discusses more details about the game, including that it will be conducted in the fictional Japanese town of Ebisugaoka, which is based on a real place in GIFU Prefecture called Kanayama, Gero.
Next, creature and character designer Kera sent a message that should inspire fans as it mocks them in Silent Hill f for awaiting horror.
“I love the Silent Hill series, which has a big impact on me,” Kayla said. “In particular, I've been thinking about Silent Hill 2, the information on the walls, the music and monster design. So when it comes to Silent Hill F and bringing the environment to Japan, we had to come up with something that feels a little different, and I had to really think about how to get that feeling.
“The design of monsters is the hardest. I have to consider everything that has appeared on the silent hills before and figure out how to take the game away in a different direction, but it's still a quiet hill. It may not be the exact same blood-covered, rusty scenery, but I sincerely hope you will enjoy our vision and the world we create.”
Music will also be a very important part of Silent Hill F, which combines long-silent hill composers Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage (Dynasty Warriors series, etc.) to create music for Fog World and Elessworld, respectively.
“I created music for a disturbing and beautiful world that uses images from the shrine to blend ancient Japanese court music with ambient echoes,” Inage said. “I incorporate various techniques that connect players with the pain, internal conflict, fear and other emotions of the ballistics.”
Although we don't have a release date, it can be confirmed that the Silent Hill F will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
