I think we've got probation today from the news mess of tariffs and Nintendo Switch 2 pricing, so your Friday is fun (?): IGN Play Mario Karting World At the Nintendo event in New York this week and confirm that yes, the new beef character can actually have burgers and steak (and many other things).
If you're wondering what we might be talking about, let me point to you the recent announcement of Mario Kart World, which includes the introduction of Moo Moo Meadows Cow as a playable racer. Of course, the Internet Excited by thisa fanatic who has brought up dozens of memes and cute cows, until recently, this is no more prominent than an interesting background character in a single Mario Kart track.
But as the news of the cattle spread throughout the land, fans began to point out the potential, erm, problem, another element of the Mario Kart community revealed. Mario had a burger in a Nintendo Direct 2 trailer Wednesday. Burgers are (usually) made from beef. Will the cows that appear to be cattle eat beef by themselves? Fans really want to know.
In the Nintendo preview event, we found it. You will see that the food we see in the trailer is available in the Mario Kart community of Yoshi Restaurants, scattered throughout the course. They function like a drive-through, allowing racers to drive and pick up a bag of takeaway bags like boxes they would be. There are many different foods in it, including burgers, steak kebabs, pizza and donuts.

During our meeting we also saw cattle eating many other items, including burgers. We're a little hazy about what these items actually do for cows – other racers change their costumes when they eat them, but cows don't seem to have any effect. Can she eat beef because she likes it? Did she get a secret power from burger consumption, which we don't know yet, because Nintendo hasn't disclosed it yet? Maybe it's outside of these vegetarian burgers and meat kebabs?
IGN contacted Nintendo and tried to clear all of this, but we have no reply yet. I'm sure it's because they're busy at events in New York, not because it's a Ask a question Their PR. Yes, that's probably it.
